Lights, Coffee, Action! – Legislative Meet-And-Greet

Storm the Capitol – Meetings with Local Legislators
9:00 am to 11:30 am
General Assembly Building
201 N 9th Street, Richmond

Join Virginians for the Arts and arts supporters from across the Commonwealth in an on-stage meet-and-greet at the Dominion Arts Center’s Carpenter Theatre with members of Virginia’s General Assembly. Prior to meeting with local legislators at the Capitol, we will enjoy coffee and breakfast with elected officials and Administration personnel. Our morning meet-and-greet will be accompanied by collegiate music students from Virginia’s world-class universities thanks to the Virginia Music Educators Association.

After Lights, Coffee, Action!, we encourage you to join us in heading to the General Assembly building to meet with your local legislators and express your support for the arts and the importance of public funding for the arts through the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Your grassroots activism at Arts Advocacy Day is crucial to sending a message to the General Assembly that the arts in Virginia cannot sustain any further cuts in funding.
